ABOUT ME

I’m 53 years young.

I’m a stroke survivor.

I’ve been married 27 years,

I have a 24 year young daughter.

And a two year old cat.

For 20 years (18 if you want to be really nitpicky technical about it) I was a gung ho christian religious fanatic. I was fully planning on becoming a full time preacher.

Then I had a stroke.

It altered my life and my mind so much that I went so far as to change my name. That was 1998. Something radical happened to my faith but it took me nearly two more years to figure out what it was because I was so heavily medicated I didn’t know what I was doing.

Now it’s 2008, my head is clear most of the time. I don’t believe in god any more. I can still preach and teach just as effectively as I used to but I refuse to do it. I don’t belong. But you cannot go through changes of that magnitude easily or without comment. So I began blogging about it. This site is about all those changes and what I learned from them. This site is about living when your entire life was wiped clean.

I work in a retail store as a salesman/inventory control/assistant manager (without benefit of title)/do everything guy.

I think of myself as a photographer and writer and hope to make a living doing those things in the near future.

I’m usually broke.

I’m in constant, never ending pain from the stroke but I’m not paralyzed.

I’m a blogger and a web designer.

I’m a science fiction nut and a movie buff.

But I’m not the man I used to be (which is mostly a good thing.)
